On the ‘Today I Learned’ thread on Reddit somebody with a lot of time on their hands discovered how to make Google Translate beatbox. Due to some irregularity in the German translation setup in Google Translate it is allowing people to play German consonants in a way that sounds like drums.
If you don’t believe me then follow the steps below.
1) Go to Google Translate
2) Set the translator to translate German to German
3) Copy + paste the following in to the translate box: pv zk pv pv zk kz zk pv pv pv zk pv zk zk pzk pzk pvzkpkzvpvzk kkkkkk bsch
4) Click ‘listen’
If you go to the original thread then you can copy and paste some sick beats if you don’t want to spend the time making your own. Here are a couple of examples.
ttchtt kkkkk, bsch. ttchtt kkkkk, bsch. ttchtt kkkkk, ttchtt kkkkk, ttchtt kkkkk, bsch
A genius by the name of iamdave over on YCombinator has already put together a command list.
zx = suspended cymbal
bschk = snare
pv = brush
bk = bass
tk = flam1
vk = roll tap
kt = flam2
kttp = flam tap
krp = hi hat tap
pv = short roll
th = better hi hat
thp, ds = instant rimshot
Have fun making crazy beats on Google beatbox and I’ll see you in the club on Friday!
