Have you ever watched a video on Youtube and thought I’ve got to show this to my friends? But when your friends come over to your house, for some reason the video has become impossible to find or you can’t remember the name.
With a new Mozilla add-on it’s now possible to download all those Youtube videos that are worth holding onto.
Of course it’s possible to share links on your social network accounts or send the link in an email. However, not all our friends have an email account or even the Internet in their homes.
How to download Youtube videos
In the Mozilla browser go to ‘Tools’ and choose ‘Add-ons’.
Once you are in the Add-on browser click on ‘Get Add-on’ and search for ‘youtube’. A list of result will appear but they do not contain the add-on you need. At the bottom click ‘see all results’. This will open up a web page containing all the results.
Click ‘Easy Youtube Video Downloader’. On the next screen click ‘add to Firefox’ which will pop up a box tate gives a malicious software warning don’t worry about this, just click ‘install’ and restart Firefox. Note that your Firefox browser may ask you to allow the pop-up window, there is normally an ‘allow’ button displayed in the top right corner of the page.
Start downloading. A download button will have been added to your Youtube browser, you can click on the drop down list and download files as MP4, FLV or MP3. Once you have chosen the desired file format just click on that choice and another pop-up window will appear asking you to save or open the file. Click save and you have downloaded your first Youtube video.
